Does Montgomery County have planning and zoning?
While there is no official planning and zoning in Montgomery County, subdivisions within a 5 mile radius of the city of Mt. sterling are subject to planning and zoning and must comply with the requirement of the zoning and subdivision regulations of the City of Mt. Sterling. There are planning and zoning regulations in the city of Mt. Sterling. See mtsterling.ky.gov for information regarding Planning & Zoning meetings.

Tomorrow, Monday, 9/14/26, The Montgomery County Fiscal Court will hold our 2nd workshop of the month at 10:00 am. At 6:00 pm tomorrow night we will hold our monthly meeting. As always, both meetings will be held in the courthouse annex. Everyone is welcome to attend. The agenda for both is posted below.

Monday, 9/7/2026, Montgomery County offices will be closed for Labor Day. Regular offices hours will resume on Tuesday, 9/8/2026. We hope you and your family enjoys Labor Day 2026.

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday 9/1/26 at 10:00 am, the Montgomery County Fiscal Court will hold our first workshop of the month. We will also hold a special meeting for our Special Purpose Group Entities to report on their compensating rates for FY 27.
The agenda is posted below. The meeting will be held in the courthouse annex. Everyone is invited, hope to see you there.

The men at our road department are replacing a collapsed pipe out at Cider Ridge. It doesn’t matter if they are replacing pipes, cutting trees after storms or plowing roads in the winter, they are always professional at what they do.

The Montgomery County Fiscal Court was pleased to purchase 2 digital speed signs for the Sheriff’s Office. These are signs that we can move throughout the county to assist law enforcement in making our roads safer for everyone.
We will always support our first responders in everything that they do.
